Issue: expand mobility access

Every neighborhood deserves access

Everybody is at a different life stage. A kid or teen who can’t drive may want to bike around safely. A young couple or lower income family may want to use transit to save money. A working professional with a family may want a car to make transporting kids around easy. A disabled or senior resident may need micro-mobility to access services around town. A tourist may want bikeshare to make getting around while visiting easier.

Because of the various needs of different individuals and communities, we should aim to expand mobility access so every person may participate in society. This will encourage economic development, social mobility, improve safety, and may improve traffic flow.

We support Transit Rider’s United position on transit access and funding as well as Detroit Greenway Coalition on biking infrastructure.
